YRC Freight trucks will pick up the items congregations have donated and collected for CARE-VAN. They will take the items to the Lutheran World Relief warehouse in New Windsor, Maryland. The warehouse prepares the items for their final destination. Destinations may be refugee camps, hospitals, orphanages, villages, and sites of natural disasters.

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marion serves as a collection site as part of the annual fall Ingathering in the St. Louis, Missouri/Southern Illinois area. To assist with the costs of the local collection, as well as processing and shipping the Quilts and Kits internationally, Lutheran World Relief requests that congregations also support the LWR Quilt & Kit Shipping Fund. This will ensure that LWR has funds to also operate programs that help people grow food, improve health, and build livelihoods. Make sure all boxes are securely sealed and labeled as instructed on the 2022 Church Reporting Form. Boxes MUST not weigh more than 40 lbs. The 2022 Church Reporting Form needs to be filled out and given to the person checking you in at the Ingathering. Please see attachment for the 2022 Church Reporting Form. This form can be accessed and printed by clicking on the orange "Download Details" button.
Please allow extra time when dropping off your donations-we will be following current Covid-19 CDC guidelines and taking one car at a time. If possible please bring someone who can unload your boxes from your vehicle.

The Church of the Brethren General Offices serve as a year-round drop-off point for quilts and kits. They have a space to collect the items and once the space is full, the items are trucked to the Maryland warehouse.
Please call ahead to check on drop-off hours. Staff members are working from home, so please expect to leave a message and your call will be returned.

The Urban Servant Corps office in Denver serves as a year-round drop-off point for quilts and kits. They have a large room to collect the items and once the room is full, the items are trucked to the S. St. Paul warehouse.
Please call ahead to check on drop-off days and hours. Plan to bring someone along who can help transfer your items from your vehicle to the storage area.

- All our volunteers will be wearing masks.
- Per LWR guidelines, NO SOAP will be collected.

There is a lot of space at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, so we are grateful to them. Loading will take place from 8am - 12pm. *There will be a truck in Waukesha from 7:30am - 9am but that parking MUST be clear by 9am.
